I've got tons of PC software. While I might be interested in switching to a Mac, the cost of replacing all of the PC software is the biggest issue. Until now. ArsTechnica reports that Apple has officially provided the means for installing Windows XP on Intel-based Macs. Using Boot Camp, users can choose at startup to run Windows or Mac OS X on their computer. Nice!

May not need boot camp
For those that just want to run Windows on their Apple hardware, looks like even boot camp may not be necessary.
On the flip side, windows
On the flip side, windows users will want to use this to run Mac OSX: http://www.windowsdevcenter.com/pub/a/windows/2005/01/18/PearPC.html

emulators
While this could probably be a good tool for some people, running an emulator is not the same as being able to run the operating system natively. There are bound to be peformance and stability issues with running the operating system on top of the other one. Thus, I suspect that there won't be widespread adoption of the emulator.
Parallels Workstation 2.1 Beta for Mac OS X
Parallels Workstation 2.1 Beta for Mac OS X may be a better option than an emulator since it creates a virtual machine space within Mac OSX for running the the alternate OS. Costs $50, but if the software works well, this is a very reasonable price.
