Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Composition, Department of Language and Literature
North Georgia College and State University Department of Language of Literature seeks applications for tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in Rhetoric and Composition or English Education to begin August 2002. Candidates with preparation and experience in both fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
Located north of Atlanta, NGCSU is a state-supported, co-educational, four-year institution known for its excellence. The University's military program is currently ranked as one of the nation's finest. Duties: Teaching duties will include first-year college composition and upper-division rhetoric and composition courses and perhaps courses in furtherance of our English Education degree.
The successful candidate
will be expected to contribute to the development of upper-division
rhetoric or composition courses; provide service to the department,
college, campus and community; and maintain an appropriate research
agenda. The typical teaching load at NGCSU is twelve hours each
semester and may include evening and off-campus courses.
Requirements: Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or related field.
Experience in teaching composition and in writing program administration
desirable; demonstrated competence in teaching first-year composition
highly desirable. Experience in English Education desirable but not
required. A.B.D. Candidates will be considered but must have degree in
hand by 1 August 2003.
