Boy Scout Copyright Merit "Patch"

The Girl Scouts of America should consider themselves lucky for this slight gender-biased favoritism from the MPAA who has worked with the Los Angeles Area Boy Scouts to develop the "Respect Copyrights" patch (Ars Technica, CCCC-IP).

Below is a good emblem for this patch, IMHO:

The Hitler Youth?

Wow. This is such a great idea. "Good boy scouts always call the RIAA when mom, dad, sis, or brother are stealing music." "Did your dad BUY that Little Nemo DVD he gave you for your birthday? Nope, it's a burn, baby." If daddy goes to prison, you'll get a 10% discount on your MPAA patch!

Back in my day, you got patches for doing right manly things, like skinning a squirrel or lighting a fire with nothing but an electric BBQ lighter and a bag of Matchlite. Now THOSE were scouts. These effete pups? Hell, they couldn't survive two days in the 'burb. Not two doggone days. These punks couldn't change out a roll of toilet paper, much less microwave their own pizza pocket.

Now, if they were in my scout group, I'd give them a patch--an eye patch, that is. Arrrr, me maties, arrr. How do they expect to get hair on their chests? I burn six copies of Metallica and two Sweatin' the Oldies DVDs every morning just for the sheer thrill of it. Ar.
