A new law makes the British Library a legal deposit archive for websites in the UK. Since CD-ROMs are also covered it looks like electronic and web-based publishing is getting another boost to its creditability. This also has the potential to open up access to web-based journals. The article notes that the library will be selective in its archiving. It would be interesting to see what criteria they'll be using to decide what gets archived and what doesn't.
