For so long, water, air, and soil pollution have been major foci in environmental debate, but work like this would seem to suggest that we must expand our notion of the technologies that directly affect climate change, thus allowing us to link things like urban sprawl more directly to climate. Presumedly we would also want to examine then how technology (copious internet connections for instance) is affecting our land use.
