Of note today, an advancement in the social network capabilities of Drupal. Bryght has released a FOAF module for Drupal:
Bryght's foaf.module enables:
- automatically importing/synchronizing profile information between any Drupal-powered sites
- importing profile information from external FOAF files
- exporting a FOAF file based on a user's profile
In addition, if the buddylist.module is installed, the exported FOAF information will also list your "buddies".

Is anyone out there using FOAF, and if so how?
Several sites (including Blog
Several sites (including Blogware and Tribe.net) implement FOAF. I actually don't care much for the format (which is RDF-based), but we've recognized that today it is the only common format for structured interchange of profile data.
The (more) interesting part about our module is that it also enables synchronization of your own profile data between any sites that have it enabled -- FOAF in this case is just an interchange format.
So think of this as a step towards getting some more meaningful uses of FOAF.
