Well, I suppose it had to happen eventually. The oxymoronic U.S. Intelligence Forces have begun tracking blogs in hope that some blogger somewhere may have more authentic and up-to-date information than they do. Robert Steele, a former U.S. intelligence officer, said "absolutely" that blogs are valid sources of intelligence and news, though he said authenticating the information in blogs "leaves a lot to be desired." What a shame; seems like bloggers would work harder to provide quality information for U.S. Intelligence. :-)
The article also discusses how China is tracking blogs and trying their best to block the Chinese people from blogging altogether. This is really sad news, though it does prove my point rather nicely that blogs promote subjectivism and reinforce "authority" in ways that more socialist or communistic societies would reject.

Weirdness
Just as an interesting tidbit, a while back my blog was getting daily hits from an IP address that belonged to the department of homeland security. This went on for a couple of months before they stopped (or did a better job of hiding themselves).
Dangit, I shouldn't have said that out loud, now I'm really in trouble! :-)
