Slashdot noted today that Thunderbird has it's first release candidate for 1.0. It doesn't appear to be available yet on the regular download page, but I installed the version linked to from Slashdot.

My favorite feature is the news aggregator. It's definitely good enough to make me consider moving away from using my Drupal aggregator on cyberdash.com. Got to read about Sam's vacation using the Thunderbird aggregator (Sam recently switched to Drupal and now has RSS).

So, for your friends that don't use news aggregators but do use Thunderbird, introduce them to RSS :)
