I was glad to see this Slashdot post announcing the North American broadcast rights to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, a TV series sequel to the original 1996 movie. Those unfamiliar with the story, might want to read Roger Ebert's 1996 review:

In the new Japanese animated film ``Ghost in the Shell,'' the ``shell'' refers to bodies both artificial and organic, and the ``ghost'' refers to individual identity.
