the new google toolbar not only blocks popup ads, it comes with a "blog this!" button for blogger integration.

Re: Google *is* the OS.
I have to agree with this post from Microdoc News: Why is Google making a product that works only on IE? [Link via Dennis's Literacy Weblog.]
More snarkily, why is Google wasting its time trying to make IE almost as good as Mozilla?
Re: Google *is* the OS.
Sure. But if you are Google, why bother making this for IE when Mozilla handles popup ads nicely and Firebird has so many more nifty extensions, including some for Google, that who cares about the toolbar :)
Sure. Some current users of older versions would like it, but no long term prospects in creating a toolbar for Mozilla. It's already almost obsolete.
Re: Google *is* the OS.
I haven't tried the new Blogger interface yet, but the old one had limited functionality with Mozilla. You only got the formating buttons in IE. Well at least they won't have to "fix" that since they purchased Blogger :-)
Re: Google *is* the OS.
Formatting buttons? Who needs formatting buttons? Just type raw html :)
Really. I'm surprised :)
But seriously, the function which IE supports that allows that kind of formatting is now available in Mozilla. Won't be long until Blogger takes advantage of it.
Hello?
In the real world, everyone uses IE. I like Mozilla, and hope people use it, but I think it's an easier sell to tell people "click here and install this toolbar" rather than "go to mozilla.org and download 37 megs, and put a poster of Che Guevara or Linus Torvalds on your wall."
