Grad Student Finds Chat Rooms May Lead to Student Success

Ed Glantz, a first-year doctoral student at Penn State in the School of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), used instructor-moderated online chat in his information systems class, which usually has an enrollment of about 300 students (!). Glantz first decided to use chat as a way to group students off into smaller clusters and make the course more interactive. The results and his reflections on his findings are contained in the article. It's well worth the read.
