Yahoo! News reports that the US House of Representatives has created a national list for blocking telemarketers:
The House voted 418-7 on Wednesday to allow the Federal Trade Commission to collect fees from telemarketers to fund the registry, which will cost about $16 million in its first year.
Now, will someone please add a similar measure for email spam onto that bill?

Re: House OKs National 'Do Not Call' List
Good point cel4145, but right now I'm thrilled by these developments. I finally feel that our government is acting in our best interests instead of the corporate's. As I understand, though, the bill won't cover political or charity telephone calls, so we can still expect our houses under siege during campaigns.
