When Senator Joe Lieberman announced his candidacy for President, who knew that he would also integrate a new technology into his campaign strategy: spam. Ironically, Liberman had taken an anti-spam position in 2000.
As ZDnet explains, this isn't the first time that spam has been used by politicians. However, I'd like to point out that it has dangerous implications. What happens if every politician running for office starts using spammers to spread the word? Imagine all of the federal, state and local elections. Wow!
Hell, why don't we just all get it all over and done with? Someone develop one of those nifty little screensaver apps so that we can randomly spider the web and spam everyone from our own desktops. Then everyone will quickly reach the conclusion that will happen anyway: without federal government regulation of spam, campaign regulation included, at some point, email will become useless.

Re: Is Spam Good for Politics?
I agree with you whole-heartedly cel4145. That Lieberman is willing to use this campaign strategy is all the reason I need NOT to vote for him, and, as a matter of fact, actively campaign against him.
Re: Is Spam Good for Politics?
well, i' not sure if it's been said whether this was a lieberman decision or one of his over eager staff members. i'm willing to reserve judgment on the senator until we see if they continue to use email spamming for campaiging.
