Coordinator (Hypernaut Coordinator)

Description of Coordinator (Hypernaut Coordinator) Position:
The Hypernaut Coordinator coordinates programs of undergraduate student-facilitators who, in conjunction with faculty, staff, and other students, work using innovative pedagogies and technologies to improve teaching and learning at the undergraduate level. Major duties include: recruiting, training, coordinating, and supervising the work of undergraduate paraprofessionals who will collaborate with constituents both inside and outside of the unit.

The Hypernaut Coordinator represents the paraprofessional programs to the larger university and academic community. The coordinator collaborates on various projects especially as they relate to faculty development, and is responsible for serving on unit and university wide committees, monitoring the program budget, and providing status and assessment reports related to all paraprofessionals projects as appropriate. A/P position, 12 mo., ft, salary based on experience.

Qualifications:
Required: A Master's degree and two years experience teaching in higher education. Experience coordinating a program that included undergraduate teams. Experience working with faculty on curricula. Effective interpersonal skills and supervisory experience. Demonstrated presentation skills for diverse audiences. Experience implementing best practices in teaching and learning, and effective use of technologies in a higher education setting. Experience developing and assessing both online and proximal learning activities. Knowledge of instructional design and learning theory. Demonstrated ability to positively interact with diverse populations, including internal and external constituents. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in stressful conditions. Experience effectively working in a team that prioritizes collaboration Highly developed organizational skills necessary for recruiting and coordinating teams of diverse individuals, tracking numerous and varied projects simultaneously, and working to multiple deadlines and responsibilities. Experience implementing innovative pedagogies and applying best practices in both face-to-face and online settings. Preferred: Demonstrated ability to maintain a learner-centered vision of student programs while responding to needs of internal and external constituents. Experience designing and implementing assessment strategies in higher educational settings. Experience teaching in a higher education environment that specifically implements learner-centered pedagogy. Experience developing curriculum for courses in peer facilitation and/or that involves peer facilitation as the primary pedagogical approach. Experience with project management. Experience developing and implementing rubrics in undergraduate courses, and with teaching and/or coordinating programs in an online environment. Experience designing and facilitating faculty development workshops and/or seminars.
