after some discussion about avatars online and images in profiles, are you considering modifying the templates and activating the profile module to allow for avatars to be included?

or maybe it should be debated more fully first since it would have a definite effect on the site, and possibly a disadvantage for those who would choose *not* to use a profile image.... ?

well, this is why i think i asked previously if you had any luck configuring and setting up avatars. not something i'm too excited about spending time on getting the configuration setup correctly, including the ability for users to load avatars (i've stayed away from any file upload capabilities with drupal up to this point). i don't think the templates need to be modified, though. kairosnews is xtemplate.

and i'm not so certain that avatars are a good idea. but if everyone wants it, well, i'm one to go along with the crowd :)

perhaps avatars might make a good post unto itself to open up discussion.

meanwhile, i have other things in mind. just enabled the trackback module. and i plan on reworking the db to turn all stories into node type blog rather than using the story module at all. probably going to do turn all the forum posts to blogs to. no need to have these various node types running. makes more sense, i think, to have everything centralized. plus, then there would be a rss feed for every individual user.
