Knoppix 3.2 is now available.
One significant new feature: "Possibility to create a persistent homedir with personal data and desktop settings on a memory stick or similar." Sounds like it might be time to get one of those usb keychain drives :)

Re: Knoppix 3.2 Release
I got me one of them there snazzy key drives and I downloaded Knoppix 3.2 last night. Gonna burn it and try it out later this afternoon when I make it through the rest of these here classroom observations.
Note: The classroom ain't doing much :-)
Re: Knoppix 3.2 Release
Cool. I definitely want to hear how it works. If the key drives work well, I could see remastering Knoppix 3.2 with the apps I like, then using *my* desktop on every machine :)
BTW: Slashdotters are discussing how Knoppix is *the* recovery tool for sysadmins. One thing I missed, though, in 3.1 which would make it a better recovery tool is gFTP.
Re: Knoppix 3.2 Release
Is gFTP present in 3.2? I haven't checked it out yet.
Re: Knoppix 3.2 Release
haven't tried yet. i've downloaded the iso, but still need to checksum and burn.
Re: Knoppix 3.2 Release
checksummed, burned and running really smooth. I am on a machine with a regular Linux partition so the swap partition might be helping but it still runs better than the last version (IMHO). Haven't tried the pen drive yet, too lazy to get up and find my keys :-)
Re: Knoppix 3.2 Release
I just burned the image and am writing from Knoppix. Wow! And who says that Linux isn't ready for the desktop :)
