Laptops a Hot Fertility Issue

My first reaction was "Ouch!":

Men who regularly balance their laptop computers on their laps when working may be jeopardizing their ability to have children, according to a new study from fertility researchers at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

The potential risk comes from the heat generated by the laptop computer and the close position of one's thighs when balancing the computer on one's lap, the researchers found. This heat is transferred to the scrotum, where the temperature can rise several degrees, putting users within the danger zone for testicular dysfunction.

Meanwhile, I wonder how long it is before we find out results of long term cell phone usage? Do our brains fry from having the receiving/sending unit that close to our heads? Just one more reason why I keep using the earbud (other than the fact that it's easier and more efficient).

Ouch!

No kidding! Maybe I shouldn't worry about getting a laptop. I've done without one all this time, and this news doesn't make me eager to change that.

Perhaps what is called for here is a codpiece?

lap warmers

I've actually found "lap warming function" of my laptop to be quite convenient, especially on cold winters' mornings. Good thing I already have kids!
