http://www.lawduck.net is a blog by me, a third year law student and former editor at LookSmart, about search, language, private cultures in cyberspace, and whatever the heck else I think of or see. Of especial interest to me (at the moment) are IP and franchise law issues in MMORPGs, as well as the notion of klatch as it applies to the online world.
Cheers and thank heavens I found this place! Lucky hit off a Google search on Firefox extensions :)

"IP and franchise law issues in MMORPGs"
That sounds pretty interesting. I also wouldn't be surprised at if in 10-20 years, it's a hot field in law.
Welcome to knews :)
Well, there is big money involved..
Yes, I think there will definitely be a heavy litigious presence very soon...Did you hear about this "virtual estate" deal? The guy spent $26,500 for a virtual island in a MMOG. Yeah, there will be lawyers here pretty soon.
you must have missed this one
Is It Time to Invest in Virtual Real Estate?
;)
Missed it!
Wow! Yes, I did miss that one. Yikes!
You know, I was asked on that radio program to describe what Kairos is all about. I was totally stumped. I had no available sound bites. Man, I sounded like a jerk!
Just for future reference, can anyone offer some convenient soundbites that describe Kairos and Kairosnews?
Kairos soundbites
Aren't there some Kairos promotional materials available? Seems like I remember that from a listserv discussion. Those might have what you are looking for in terms of soundbites.
Thanks for the welcome and soundbites:
Thanks for the kind words/links. The front page today is serious food for thought! I'm again very pleased that I found this place.
As for soundbites, doesn't the little blurb to the right serve? "Kairosnews is an open community...etc." I mean, there's more to say, but as a capsule description that's a good sentence, and then perhaps an additional sentence emphasizing areas of interest to members or goals and hopes of the editors...
