I put this lecture together for my composition courses and was curious to know what some of the folks thought about my approach. I'm borrowing a page from some of the "weak AI" folks and arguing that we can learn about how our brain works (and how to become better writers) by studying how computers work. I'm also working with some of Robert Reich's beliefs about "symbol analysts" he explores in The Work of Nations. Finally, I'm impressed with the Searle's work on the philosophy of mind and tried to tie this altogether with what I'm learning as I work my way through Teach Yourself C in 21 Days. Yes, I'm probably nuts and have most of the details wrong, yet I find these connections fascinating...Feel free to make comments here or on the lecture (though you have to register on mattbarton.net to do the latter; it's free, of course).
