The Patriot Act forces librarians to submit on demand records of a user's borrowings. It also forbids them to publicize these seizures. Librarians have a mixed response to the legislation, at least according to this article on Wired.

Are the librarians resisting the legislation defending intellectual freedom or protecting terrorists' access to dangerous information? Maybe I shouldn't check out the Anarchist's Cookbook anymore!
