If you haven't heard the news, Ed Tech Dev describes it best: Netscape is Dead. MozillaZine explains that AOL is cutting all support for Netscape.

Now the good news is that today marks the beginning of the Mozilla Foundation, a non-profit organization whose home is still mozilla.org (but with a facelift). And note that while AOL is withdrawing their employee support of development, they did donate $2 million to the foundation (see this Slashdot link).

Not to worry. Netscape may be dead, but Mozilla is still thriving. And it's out from under the AOL shadow.

By the way, if you are ready to switch, go ahead and give Mozilla Firebird a shot.
