Many Gene Research Consent Forms Misleading: Study

Here is a case in which a technical document plays a major role in questions of communication, bioethics, science, and research method (ethics of the way the researcher treats the research participants). These consent forms are worded vaguely and give the participants the idea that the gene transfer research will be more therapeutic than it really is.

On that note, lately (due to the influence of professors here in the Rhetoric department at the University of Minnesota) I've become kind of interested in cultural studies of reproductive technologies and bioethics. There are quite a few articles out there on these topics; would they be of interest to you, Kairosnews readers? Do you think we need a Rhetoric of Science category?
