National Do Not Call List Opens for Registrations

Slashdot notes that the National Do Not Call List for telemarketers is opening for business. As soon as the .gov site is no longer slashdotted, I would imagine that a lot of us will want to register. I'll even stand in line :)

Now, where's the email version that we all need?

No longer slashdotted

I registered this morning. Took about 30 seconds--elegant, minimalist interface. This project was done right!

P.S. I doubt that slashdot alone took this site down. NPR, NY Times, CNN, and Yahoo probably had a bit to do with it. But "slashdotted" is a nicer word for it.

Yippee~

I just registered my #, too. Hopefully this will prevent some of the annoying calls I've been getting (upwards of 5 per day). I wonder if there are some loopholes in the law, though.

Yep. Go to the site and read the faq page. It explains that, for example, non-profits and political organizations can still solicit (sigh)
