Position available: Assistant Professor of English, specialist in New Media
Salary: $45,000 to $50,000
Date of appointment: Tenure-track position beginning August 2006

Responsibilities: The person selected will teach undergraduate and graduate English courses in New Media, first-year writing, general education courses, and other courses in the English major related to candidate’s qualifications; engage in scholarly activity; serve on committees, advise students, and perform other teaching and nonteaching duties as assigned.

Qualifications and experience: Requirements: Ph.D. in English or related field, with a specialization in New Media, in hand by time of appointment; demonstrated excellence in teaching, evidence of scholarly potential, demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds. Desirable: Publications and other professional activities related to this specialization; relevant industry experience; supporting qualifications for teaching one or more of the following: drama and/or screenwriting, postcolonial or world literature, composition and rhetoric, visual rhetoric and graphic design, professional and technical communication
