No More Spam. Thanks Mozilla!

As of Mozilla 1.3 (currently in alpha--don't download yet), Mozilla developers are working to build spam filtering into Mozilla Mail. Would be nice if sometime next spring, users of Mozilla Mail can greatly reduce spam :)

Now, I wonder if Netscape/AOL will remove this option, just as they removed popup add blocking.

In related news, the FTC is cracking down on spammers . I wonder if the FTC will truly be able to curtail the actions of these rascals?

Well, seems like I rememer a while back that the government (not sure which part) backed opt out policies for websites giving out user information. The most effective means to eliminate spam would be to require opt in policies, for all businesses, not just online (which would help to reduce telemarketing), in conjunction with enforcement of spam.
