OpenOffice.org has released public beta 3.0, which includes native OS X support (previous betas required an X11 installation). The beta is intel only. It may be downloaded from the snapshots section.

Mac native, soon... soon...
When 3.0 is declared stable, I'm eager to try the VBA support. That's the biggest reason I won't migrate from Office 2004 on the Mac, for now. I use macros in Excel and Word - -can't imagine recoding every single macro in AppleScript (yikes) and Ruby isn't yet perfect for AppleEvents.
I definitely hope that OO3 is way, way ahead of NeoOffice, which is dog at times on my MacBook Pro. The X11 port simply looks odd, with strange font kerning issues (on screen only, prints fine).
My dream would be more support from Apple for this project, but I know they have Pages and Numbers to tweak. (I do like Numbers for small things.)
This might be the release that changes my views on OpenOffice. Looks promising.
