In August, the Columbia Accident Investigation Board at NASA released Volume 1 of its report on why the space shuttle crashed. As expected, the ship's foam insulation was the main cause of the disaster. But the board also fingered another unusual culprit: PowerPoint, Microsoft's well-known ''slideware'' program.



But Byrne likes it, sort of
The AP has a story that I found on CNN about David Byrne's take on PowerPoint. In his book, "Envisioning Emotional Epistemological Information," he agrees that it makes one dumb noting it ushers in, ""the end of reason," but seems to think it has some artistic potential. I'd be interested in seeing the book and DVD or hearing from anyone that has seen it.
The article does a pretty good in discussing the 'problems' of PowerPoint or at least giving space to PowerPoint's critics.
