With so many Mozilla Firefox extensions, it's sometimes difficult to know which to try. Here's some help. ExtremeTech's review provides an overview of some of the more useful extensions, including Gmail Notifier and fireFTP. Notably, my favorite was not included: Tabbrowser Extensions.

Extensions
They didn't mention the RSS news aggregator I've been using. It's not perfect, but seems to get the job done.
I agree with their choices...but
I'd like to put forward way more than 10 extensions. The nice thing with FF and the extensions (FF&Xs) is that different users can tailor their browser in so many useful ways. I use the infoRSS to keep up with several sites that I use (my classes) while still using the Live Bookmarks to keep up with even more. I like the "immediate" (and colorful) view of infoRSS in my browser status bar to help remind me that i need to check out the RSS feeds. Then, I have a bookmark folder with a number of live bookmars (another extension) that I check--I can, at a glance, see my class feeds from the Drupal sites--and viola...I've automated a "check-in process that used to be way more tedious.)
Similarly, The 'create tiny url' extension has been way more useful to me than several of their listed items. And with extensions like "Download Them All," I can get any number of PDFs from a University Library Search on one of our University databases...
I guess my point is that while the 10 they include are okay--certainly very useful--I think the user and browser-use decides what's really "useful." And that is the beauty of switching away from IE or NS--FF gives the same basic functionality and then the exciting abilty to configure (without needing to know anything overly 'techie') the browser for your own ways of using a browser.
Anyway...I like the list, but encourage people to really spend some time looking at what else is available.
