According to bIPlog, the World Summit on Information Society conference hid RFID tags in their conference name tag badges. I'm trying to think of some good reasons for doing so, but so far, I feel that this is too much of a violation of privacy. And it scares me to imagine that in the future, we could be scanned for the RFID tag in our watch, our clothes, our shoes, our phone, etc., and information about our location and travel during a day, say at a conference or in a shopping mall, could be stored and analyzed.

RFID tags by WSIS
WHAT?!?! That's outrageous!
The frequencies emitted absolutely cannot affect other electronic devices, including pacemakers? I can't believe they didn't at least advise attendees for this reason alone, let alone the other security issues that bIPlog pointed out.
I'm surprised they didn't say they were sponsored by Walmart as well, given Walmart's insistence on RFID!
