BBCi reports: Doctor Who is coming back to BBC One in 2005. It will be a new live-action series, written by Russell T Davies.

Of course, over here we probably won't see it until the next time PBS has a pledge drive. But it's still nice to know the Fox abomination didn't kill off the franchise.

Great news

Thanks for posting this. I'm a big Dr. Who fan (mostly Tom Baker). Though the last doctor didn't impress me, I still tried to keep up with the show. The Fox abomination isn't even on my radar.

I really think the show peaked with Baker, though some of the previous doctors were excellent. I have a colleague here who writes novels for the series; Dr. Who fanfic has a major presence on the web.
