A new movie blip has appeared on the Mattdar: SERENITY, a movie based on a defunct TV series called Firefly, which I haven't ever seen. Apparently, Orson Scott Card is in love with it, and my favorite movie critic, James Berardinelli, also has nice things to say about it (though he gives it 3 out of 4 stars). Anyway, I know that my friends here are more into the modern SF stuff than I am (I'm more into TOS, Dr. Who, and Red Dwarf), so I'd like to hear some opinions. Is this one worth dragging myself to the multiplex? Does it matter if I haven't seen the show? While you're at it, is Firefly worth checking out as well? Thanks.

Sad, I know
I know, Clancy. That's what happens when you don't have cable. :-P Guess I'll take a trip down to Pirate Bay Video Rental and see if they have those DVDs.
Firefly is not Farscape, but
Firefly is not Farscape, but it's very good :) I saw the movie, and it's as good as the series. You might as well watch some of the series first.
You know . . .
I know you are a sci-fi fan. Care to describe your viewing history with Star Wars? ;-)
Star Wars Viewing History
It's true, it's true. I have seen all the Star Wars movies, but only just a few months ago.
