Seton Hill University seeks published novelist of popular fiction (preferably mystery/suspense), to teach and to mentor novel-length theses in the graduate low-residency Writing Popular Fiction program (half-load), and to teach undergraduate courses in creative writing and first-year composition.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in English, MFA considered. Background in journalism, publishing, and/or editing a plus. Teaching experience/potential at undergraduate level desirable.

Rhetoric and Composition (http://class.georgiasouthern.edu/writling/). Two tenure-track assistant professor positions.  Ph.D. in rhetoric and composition or related field required by appointment date, with specialization in cultural studies, literacy studies, rhetorical history, writing technologies, and/or composition theory as they relate to teaching and research in the field of writing studies.  Ph.D. required by starting date of position, August 1, 2007.  Experience teaching with technology and evidence of scholarly potential and excellence in teaching are required.  Two to four years college teaching experience preferred.  Preference may be given to candidates with publications or presentations at professional conferences and to candidates with experience working with diverse student populations.  Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the department’s degree concentration in Writing and Culture, as well as first-year composition.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.  Screening of applications begins November 1, 2006 and continues until the position is filled.  A complete application consists of a letter addressing the qualifications cited above; a curriculum vitae; and the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of at least three professional references.  Applications should be sent to Professor Michael Pemberton, Search Chair, Search #51761, Department of Writing and Linguistics, Georgia Southern University, P.O.
