Tweeting Israel

The Israel Consulate now has a twitter account and has been offering updates to the conflict and holding "tweet" news conferences. As many of you know, I am a fan of Twitter and of 12second.TV (and of current tv as well), and feel that the next new communication breakout will be via twitter. This new development, Israel Citizen's "press Conference," helps solidify my case.

I don't know how everybody else is faring now that Obama has chosen Joe Biden for his running mate...You've no doubt heard about Biden's Pro-RIAA, pro-FBI voting record. Still, we can hope that all this talk about the "little guy" will somehow pertain to people besides Jack Valenti, who is surely not all that downtrodden (really). Being disgruntled (and wondering if anyone has ever been just gruntled?), I checked out some of the fringe action and found some interesting stuff.

SCSU Politics Website

I suppose this is as good as time as any to announce SCSU Politics, the "big project" we've been working on in my Writing for the Web course (grad/undergrad). I decided this semester to leave my comfort zone (wikis) and see what students could do with a content management system (Drupal). I helped them set up the website, relying on Elizabeth for the graphics design work.

Following on Dennis' post about a "serious" game, I thought I'd bring your attention to this interview about the rhetoric of war in a game called "Turning Point," which is an alternate history game--what if Nazis had invaded the U.S. There's apparently some self-conscious rhetoric at work here, trying to help gamers grasp how rhetoric is just as important in war as guns and bombs.
