Looks like an opportunity move from d2l (we have it here at Bemidji State, too) towards open source, though.

That definitely would be a smart move IMO. I wonder if there's any chance of it? I kind of doubt it, considering we're on Microsoft servers here. If they reject Apache, I'd be surprise if they're more open minded about an LMS.
Then again, Firefox is gaining lots of momentum here.

we are devo
Our latest IT people took us off the MS servers and are running Apache at BSU (bless them), but I can see MnSCU wanting to centralize even a move towards open source. I'd prefer some co-ordination rather than top-down centralization. Devolution is more in the spirit of open source.
