TIKI WIKI: The Experiment Begins

A voyage across the deeps can lead to treasure--or the bottom.Well, here goes...The latest effort in Matt Barton's efforts to harness the power of WIKIS in the courseroom: Matt's TIKI WIKI. What we have here is an entire CMS based on a wiki. I procrastinated awhile to let the TIKI team release the new version, but it's now on my server and running quite nicely. The students have already commented that it's much better than the old, patched-together site.

TIKI is still pretty new, and I've already encountered some bugs and things I'd like added or modified. My PHP skills are still in the NEOPHYTE stage, but hopefully I'll be able to get what I need done for this. I'm really excited about the customization and collaborative features of this new setup.

Please; take a look at my efforts and tell me what you think! Or should I say, tell me what you thinki? :-)

cool stuff, but . . .

looks great, matt :)

but it looks like we might have to convert you to drupal after all at some point. liquidx is working on a wiki module for drupal: preliminary wiki module for drupal

Ah, well, you have to throw your lot in with one team or the other. The thing with these open source teams is that they really only thrive on the participation of the communities and whatever inertia gets build up during the initial design phase. I've seen some good projects just fade away into oblivion after I spent hundreds of hours with them.

Let's help keep Drupal strong !

choices about open source are more than just about features

i agree. choosing an open source product is also about choosing the community. that's why i wrote this.
