The light just went on! For weeks and weeks, I have wondered why Kairosnews features a bicycle helmet in the upper right corner of the page. Finally, this morning, I decided to solve the mystery by subjecting the image to extended scrutiny. Boy, was I chagrined to discover I had the wrong technological artifact altogether. Ah well, I initially thought Thomas Demand took pretty unimpressive photographs, too. Here's to the virtues of close examination.

Here's information about the original version of the image that is in the header.

Meaning by wire
If the wire leading in from the lower left hadn't been edited out of the original photo, the mouse would definitely have looked more like a mouse. :-)
didn't work
I couldn't get it to work right. I even tried making my own mouse cord in Photoshop. Still looked crappy.

The simple solution
to this problem would just be to change the mouse to a more recognizable icon of kairotic symbology, like a platypus. Or maybe a Roomba. :-)
In all seriousness, maybe we could have a contest like Kairos and see who could come up with the best image for the top right of the header? Not sure what we could offer as a prize, though.
What is that thing you've got an avatar, cel4145? I'm guessing a compass?

Wait . . .
You mean that's not a car from Logan's Run?
Logan's Run
I love that movie! ;-)
I even watched with the commentary on...Kinda interesting, they have the director, Michael York, and the costume guy doing the commentary. It's really interesting sitting through a movie and hearing about all the issues that came up in wardrobe during production. Talk about wardrobe malfunctions...!
