Yippee! Knoppix for Kids!

While Freeduc is Knoppix for the educationally minded, Knoppix is now setting its sights on a smaller audience (smaller in stature that is). This upcoming Live CD will include the Tux4Kids software as well. It gives kids the chance to learn Linux, typing skills, and math skills all at the same time!

While there still may not be a computer in every classroom, with Linux distros like this it looks like more of the ones that do have penguins as well.

this is a great idea. i hope that they load mozilla's bookmarks with kid friendly sites as well.

it's amazing what can be done with customizing a distribution with open source software, as opposed to proprietary os's where everything has to come determined by the software and hardware manufacturers. linux-based pc's could be disbributed in multiple flavors with setups for a wide-range of users.
