Sports scholarships in the USA

Collegiate sports in America are at the highest level in the world, so universities carefully select promising candidates for their sports teams, and even more carefully those whose education and training they will fund.

Sports scholarship – an opportunity to fully combine study and training

Athletes who study at US universities receive:

at least 20 hours of training per week;
individual training schedule, taking into account the training and competition plan;
training with the best coaches and regular participation in competitions.

Sports teams of US universities and colleges are divided into three divisions, and it is most difficult to get into the team and, accordingly, the university of the First Division – there are higher demands and more competition. The First Division includes, for example, the famous Ivy League universities.

American universities create all conditions for athletes to combine full-fledged study with training, leading to the highest achievements in sports. But it is important to remember that in addition to your sports reputation, universities also value your academic reputation – even if the university appreciated you as an outstanding athlete by awarding a sports scholarship, while you train within its walls, study remains in the first place for you. Poor academic performance will undermine your athletic performance, and if you are a poor student but practice well, your scholarship will most likely not be extended.
